Saratoga Federated Church
We are followers of Jesus on a transformational journey, participating with the Spirit of God to fill the world with God’s love, justice, and beauty.
We are an independent, local, Christian church. We are inter-denominational, meaning that we are not associated with a particular denomination. We value the worship, service, faithfulness, and lessons of all Christians, from every culture and century.
Our theology and doctrine are inspired and shaped by the Bible. The Old and New Testaments (known as the Jewish and Christian scriptures) are the most reliable source for our understanding of God. As God’s self-revelation, we look to the Bible first and last for guidance in our thinking and behavior.
We affirm two creeds embraced universally by the Christian church, the Apostles Creed, and the Nicene Creed.
We Recognize the Image of God in Everyone
God commands us to love our neighbor. But how? Who is our neighbor?
We believe, and the Bible tells us, that we are all created in the image of God. Our culture reminds us daily of all the things that separate us, but this truth unites us: every human being is an image-bearer of God and thus deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and honor. That is loving our neighbor.
What do we do?
We respond to God in worship, gather to grow, and reach out to the lost and hurting.
